Front cover, back cover and spine dimensions
A full print cover is not simply two pages side by side. You must account for front cover, back cover, spine and, depending on the product, bleed, flaps, wrap or hinges.
Paperback cover
Base width is back cover + spine + front cover, plus the outer bleed. Height is the trim height plus top and bottom bleed.
Flaps and dust jackets
French flaps add side panels. Dust jackets may include a spine, panels, hinges and flaps depending on the printer. The editor separates these zones visually so you do not need to repeat the calculations manually.
Hardcover and special formats
Hardcovers can include wrap, hinges and overhang. Verify these values against your printer’s technical template; the editor can overlay that template with opacity and exclude it from final export.
