Bleed, trim and safe zones on a book cover
Bleed is the area that extends beyond the final trim size and is cut away after printing. It prevents unwanted white edges caused by normal cutting tolerances.
What should reach the bleed
Backgrounds, photos and colors intended to touch the final edge must extend through the entire bleed area. Do not place important information in that extension.
Safe zone
Text, logos, barcodes and critical details should stay away from trim and fold lines. The editor calculates safe zones per panel and checks design elements against them.
Preflight before export
Run preflight and fix safe-zone issues, off-canvas objects, low resolution, non-embedded fonts and invalid EAN codes before generating the final file.
